چکیده

We consider SU(3)-equivariant dimensional reduction of Yang-Mills theory on spaces of the form R× SU(3)/H, with H equals either SU(2)×U(1) or U(1)×U(1). For the corresponding quiver gauge theory we derive the equations of motion and construct some specific solutions for the Higgs fields using different gauge groups. Specifically we choose the gauge groups U(6) and U(8) for the space R×CP 2 as well as the gauge group U(3) for the space R×SU(3)/U(1)×U(1), and derive Yang-Mills equations for the latter one using a spin connection endowed with a nonvanishing torsion. We find that a specific value for the torsion is necessary in order to obtain non-trivial solutions of Yang-Mills equations. Finally, we take the space R × CP 1 × CP 2 and derive the equations of motion for the Higgs sector for a U (3m+ 3) gauge theory. ar X iv :0 90 8. 42 75 v1 [ he pth ] 3 0 A ug 2 00 9

Dimensional Reduction and Vacuum Structure of Quiver Gauge Theory

We describe the structure of the vacuum states of quiver gauge theories obtained via dimensional reduction over homogeneous spaces, in the explicit example of SU(3)-equivariant dimensional reduction of Yang-Mills-Dirac theory on manifolds of the form M × CP . We pay particular attention to the role of topology of background gauge fields on the internal coset spaces, in this case U(1) magnetic m...

SU(3)-Equivariant Quiver Gauge Theories and Nonabelian Vortices

We consider SU(3)-equivariant dimensional reduction of Yang-Mills theory on Kähler manifolds of the form M × SU(3)/H , with H = SU(2) × U(1) or H = U(1) × U(1). The induced rank two quiver gauge theories on M are worked out in detail for representations of H which descend from a generic irreducible SU(3)-representation. The reduction of the Donaldson-UhlenbeckYau equations on these spaces induc...

Rank Two Quiver Gauge Theory, Graded Connections and Noncommutative Vortices

We consider equivariant dimensional reduction of Yang-Mills theory on Kähler manifolds of the form M×CP 1×CP . This induces a rank two quiver gauge theory on M which can be formulated as a Yang-Mills theory of graded connections on M . The reduction of the Yang-Mills equations on M×CP 1×CP 1 induces quiver gauge theory equations on M and quiver vortex equations in the BPS sector. When M is the ...

Quiver Gauge Theory and Noncommutative Vortices

We construct explicit BPS and non-BPS solutions of the Yang-Mills equations on noncommutative spaces R θ × G/H which are manifestly G-symmetric. Given a G-representation, by twisting with a particular bundle over G/H , we obtain a Gequivariant U(k) bundle with a G-equivariant connection over R θ × G/H . The U(k) Donaldson-Uhlenbeck-Yau equations on these spaces reduce to vortex-type equations i...

ADE-quiver theories and Mirror Symmetry

We show that the Higgs branch of a four-dimensional Yang-Mills theory, with gauge and matter content summarised by an ADE quiver diagram, is identical to the generalised Coulomb branch of a four-dimensional superconformal strongly coupled gauge theory with ADE global symmetry. This equivalence suggests the existence of a mirror symmetry between the quiver theories and the strongly coupled theor...
